March Daffodil

Image
Another CAS card today - this one uses the cheery daffodil stamp from the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers range. I used watercolour pencils to colour the daffodils. The papers are from the Beautifully Bright Perfect Backgrounds stamping pad by For The Love Of Stamps. A very simple card this one, but I think it allows the bright colours to pop out. I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Creatalicious #130 anything goes with optional wishes http://creataliciouschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/challenge-130-anything-goes-with.html Crafting With An Attitude #34 anything goes http://craftingwithanattitude.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/challenge-34.html Creative Knockouts #226 anything goes http://creativeknockouts.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/226-anything-goes-star-stampz.html Well we didn't get to Ikea for more craft storage, instead we are waiting until the room is decorated before we start buying a load more furniture! June Rose

Image
Another aperture card today - this one uses the rose stamp from the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers range, and the rose is actually my birth flower. I coloured the rose in with coloured pencils, die cut it out using Spellbinders labels 8 and added it to the inside of the 6"x6" card blank. The paper on the outside is from the Beautifully Bright For The Love Of Stamps Perfect Backgrounds stamping pad, and I added a little red Distress Ink to the edges. The gold card is Hunkydory's mirri mats. The flourish die is an old Spellbinders one from a set called Venetian Accents (actually some of the first dies I ever bought!), and I added a gold drop shadow beneath the white flourish. The gems are Hunkydory's gold diamond sparkles. CAS Lily Of The Valley

Image
I hope you all had a great Christmas - did you get any nice new crafting goodies? I got lots of lovely Spectrum Noir goodies - all the Colourblend pencils and 4 of the 24 sets of the pens. Can't wait to get using them! Onto the card - today I'm sharing a card using the lily of the valley stamp from the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers range, and it's a very clean and simple (CAS) one. I stamped the lily of the valley bouquet several times around the edge of my piece of card, and coloured them in using coloured pencils. I added a pale pink mat. The sentiment is from the same set and I mounted the piece onto another pale pink mat. I added some little hand cut pieces from the lily of the valley stamp as accents around the sentiment. Penguin Christmas Card

Image
Happy Christmas Eve! The big day is nearly upon us, and today I'm sharing my last Christmas card of this year. I apologise for the very poor quality photo - I could not find any good lighting as all the natural light had faded! So the gold mirri looks more like black card... The adorable stamp was a freebie from Whimsy stamps, and is coloured with coloured pencils. I seriously cannot wait to open my Spectrum Noir pencils tomorrow and get colouring with them! The papers are some old ones that came free with an issue of Papercraft Inspirations. The gold is Hunkydory's beautiful mirri card (I can't actually believe how well it die cuts!). All the poinsettia flowers were hand made using dies and hand shaped and inked. February Violets

Image
Today I'm sharing an aperture card made using the violets stamp from the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers range. Unfortunately I struggled to get a nice picture of it! I coloured the stamped image in using watercolour pencils. The aperture is cut using a Sizzix Framelits die and I added acetate behind it. The purple paper is from one of the For The Love Of Stamps Perfect Backgrounds stamping pads. A very simple design with just a few gems to finish. Here's a picture of the inside: I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Inspiration Destination #140 anything goes http://inspirationdestinationchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/ag-no-140.html Corrosive Challenges #12 anything goes http://corrosivechallengesbyjanet.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/challenge-12-december-anything-goes.html Creatalicious #129 anything goes with optional monochrome Christmas http://creataliciouschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/challenge-129-anything-goes-with.html

Patchwork Carnations

Image
Today I'm sharing a card made using the carnation stamp from the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers range. I coloured the carnations in using coloured pencils and cut it out using a Spellbinders labels 8 die. The border die is an X cut one and I added some orange on the inside of the card that shows through when the card is shut. I created a patchwork style background by using 2 different patterned papers cut into lots of little squares and sticking them onto the card. I added the sentiment from the same set and a few pearls to finish. Sweet Peas

Image
I love sweet peas - they're such interesting and pretty flowers. The card I'm sharing today uses the sweet pea stamp from the For The Love Of Stamps Birth Flowers range - and the sweet pea is actually the birth flower for those born in April. This is a nice clean and simple card - but don't be fooled, it wasn't a particularly quick make! I used watercolour pencils to colour with, and I find it takes me quite a while to build up the layers to get some shading (and with 4 flower bunches to colour it took a bit of time, but a fun process). I matted the stamped piece onto an ever so slightly larger piece of purple, and then stuck that to my DL card blank. Daffodils

Image
I'm sharing a lovely bright card today that would be perfect for a spring birthday. The daffodil stamp is by For The Love Of Stamps from their new Birth Flowers release, and is coloured with watercolour pencils. I die cut it out using Sue Wilson's pierced oval dies and lightly inked through the die with yellow ink to give it a slight frame. I die cut a larger oval in kraft and inked the edges to be the mat for the stamped image. The backing paper is from the beautifully bright Perfect Backgrounds stamping pad by For The Love Of Stamps. The strip of yellow paper was stamped with the daffodil in Versafine to give a subtle watermark effect. The wavy border is a Die'sire die. I added the sentiment from the same set and some gold gems to finish. Red Roses

Image
This card is definitely a different one for me, but I really enjoyed making it! I tend to just stamp onto white card (or maybe kraft), so stamping onto bright red made an interesting change. I created the 3 panels by stamping the For The Love of Stamps Birth Flowers rose stamp onto 3 separate pieces of red Hunkydory card. I added a bit of shading using a grey and a white pencil (although this is hard to see from the photo) and added a black mat to each panel. The background paper is from the monochrome For The Love of Stamps Perfect Backgrounds stamping pad. I gave it a slight black border before sticking it to the card blank. I stamped the word stamps in the bottom right hand corner of the 5"x7" card blank. I hope you like it! Lily of the Valley

Image
Today I'm sharing the first of my cards made for the Hunkydory Birth Flowers launch. A huge set of stamps featuring all the 12 birth flowers accompanies the papercrafting collection launched today by Hunkydory. There are shows on Create and Craft TV both today (4pm UK time) and the rest of the week showcasing this lovely new range. I got 6 of the beautiful flower stamps to play with, and today I'm showing you a card featuring the lily of the valley stamp. I coloured the stamp with coloured pencils and added some iridescent glitter on top. I cut the bouquet out (it was a bit fiddly but still doable!) and  mounted it atop a white die cut (Spellbinders Adorning Squares). The backing paper is from one of the For The Love Of Stamps Perfect Backgrounds stamping pads and I added a bit of glitter glue around the edges. The finished card is a little 5"x5". I would like to enter this into the following challenges: Whimsie Doodles anything goes with an optional tw

Mari Ko Creations Floral Corners

Image
Today I'm sharing my first design team card for Mari Ko Creations! The digi stamp I've used on this card is called Floral Corners (one of the new releases), and is available to buy here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CreationsbyMariK . I coloured the digi stamp in using coloured pencils - I really enjoyed colouring this one as it's not too fussy but has just the right level of detail. I mounted the coloured piece onto a slightly larger black mat, and stuck that piece onto the card blank using foam pads for some dimension. A very simple card but the stamp does all the talking! Is everyone nearly ready for Christmas?! I've just got a couple of those "special" cards to make and a few gift tags to put on my home made cookies. Oh, and a bit of shopping to do! I'm very excited for my own presents though, as I'm getting some more Spectrum Noir alcohol pens (the 24 pen sets) and the complete collection of Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils! Can't w

Colouring onto Kraft

Image
This is the last of my samples for the December For The Love of Stamps launch, and I have used the Forget-Me-Nots stamp set for this one. I used white embossing powder onto kraft card for this one. Right after embossing the sentiment my heat gun broke, so this was the last bit of heat embossing I've done for a little while! I'm just glad I managed to get all of this card done! I coloured with coloured pencils onto the kraft card. The white mats were lightly dusted with chalk pastels so they were slightly off-white. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the flowers. I finished the card off with some little 3mm pearls as it needed a little something. I will be entering this one into the following challenges: Noor! Set Sail

Image
Today I'm sharing a card made using the For The Love of Stamps Set Sail stamp set and masks. I must admit I had never actually used masks before creating my samples for this For The Love of Stamps release! But I had so much fun with them and they were really easy to use too. I had so much fun making this card! The backing piece was created using the mask with vintage photo Distress Ink onto kraft card. I inked the next kraft layer up using the same ink, and mounted the piece onto some grey card. The ship stamp is coloured using Distress Ink and a waterbrush (I don't use this technique enough!). I added 2 layers of UTEE onto the piece and created a cracked effect by bending the card so the embossing cracked. I added a die cut frame in grey (lightly inked with black ink) to create a port hole effect. The sentiment is one of the masks and I cut it out in a pennant shape and inked the edges. The cute little anchor is another of the masks that is inked onto grey card a

Forget-Me-Not Heart Card

Image
Today I'm sharing this pretty little card made using the forget-me-nots stamp set and masks by For The Love of Stamps. This was actually the first sample I made as part of the design team! I coloured the stamp in using my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. A mix of dusty concord and spun sugar Distress Inks were used through the masks. I used silver mirri mats (by Hunkydory) that I cut down for the mats. I do love the look of mirri card, but it's very had to get a nice picture of! Silver glitter glue and silver gems were also added to tie it all together. The finished card is 6x6 inches. Sausage Dog Shaker Card

Image
Today I'm sharing a quick little shaker card. I love shakers - they're so much fun to make! The stamp set used is For The Love of Stamps Happy Birthday Sausage, and is coloured with coloured pencils. I used a circle die to create the aperture, and filled the shaker with sequins and seed beads. I added a dotty embossed piece behind the acetate for a bit of detail. The finished card is tiny - only 4x4 inches in size! Triple Stamping Set Sail

Image
I'm back with another of my For The Love of Stamps samples - this one uses the Set Sail stamp set, which is available to buy here: https://www.hunkydorycrafts.co.uk/stamping-finishes/for-the-love-of-stamps/december-launch/for-the-love-of-stamps-set-sail-ftls276.html  This stamp set is perfect for those tricky men's cards and I had great fun playing with these stamps. You'll notice that a lot of my samples use kraft card - think I got a little obsessed and ended up having to stop myself from using any more!! I used triple stamping across 3 kraft card panels to create the all over pattern effect. I subtly coloured the motifs in using coloured pencils. I added black mats to the smaller of the 2 pieces to fill in the gaps where the stamp doesn't quite catch the edge. I love the sentiment used on this one! The ink used is Versafine onyx black. The finished card is 5x7 inches. I would like to enter this one into the following challenges: Crafty Creations #356 an

Sausage Dog

Image
Today I'm sharing another of my samples for the For The Love Of Stamps launch. This one uses the Happy Birthday Sausage set, which is available to buy on Hunkydory's website here: https://www.hunkydorycrafts.co.uk/stamping-finishes/for-the-love-of-stamps/december-launch/for-the-love-of-stamps-happy-birthday-sausage-ftls272.html The co-ordinating masks are available to buy here: https://www.hunkydorycrafts.co.uk/stamping-finishes/for-the-love-of-stamps/december-launch/for-the-love-of-masks-happy-birthday-sausage-ftlm272.html I created my own patterned paper using a piece of plain blue paper and the co-ordinating mask with weathered wood distress ink. The red spotty paper is from the polka dots perfect backgrounds stamping pad. I coloured the cute little dog in using watercolour pencils, and paper pieced the hat and coat onto the stamped image. The black ink used is Versafine (my ink of choice at the moment - it stamps super crisp and you can use alcohol pens and watercolou

Blue Forget-Me-Nots

Image
Today I'm sharing another of my samples for the Hunkydory For The Love Of Stamps launch - this one uses the forget-me-not stamps. This is bigger than most of the cards I do - it's a 7x7 inch card. I started by stamping the forget-me-not stamp several times onto Hunkydory superior stamping card in white, creating a cascade effect along 3 sides of the card. I coloured the stamp in using coloured pencils (just cheap children's pencils - nothing fancy!). I matted the stamped panel onto Hunkydory midnight black card to make the blue really pop. The sentiment is another stamp from the same forget-me-not set. I layered it onto black card and embellished it using hand coloured flowers. These are also from the same set, and are super useful little stamps for when you need a little embellishment that will match perfectly with the rest of the card. For The Love of Stamps December Launch

Image
Did you catch the launch hour for the December For The Love of Stamps launch on Create and Craft TV this morning? Anne-Marie's demos were stunning, and she's back on at 3pm with the stamps. Today I'm sharing 3 cards made for the launch - 1 from each of the stamp sets that I worked with. All of the gorgeous stamps and masks will be available to buy on Hunkydory's website: https://www.hunkydorycrafts.co.uk/ . I've created quite a different range of cards (some are very clean and simple!) and will be sharing all 10 of them over the coming weeks. The first one uses the Forget Me Nots stamp set and is coloured using watercolour pencils. I used Versafine ink to stamp with and used Hunkydory's superior stamping card in white to stamp onto. This is probably my favourite stamp from the whole release - it's so much fun to colour and add glitter glue details to! I've used the Set Sail stamp set for this card and coloured the anchors using Spectr

MDF Plaque Number 2

Image
A few weeks back I posted one of my MDF plaques on the blog, which can be found here: https://lillys-craftcorner.blogspot.co.uk/2017/10/mdf-plaque.html . At the time, I actually made 3 (all in slightly different designs), and today I'm sharing another of them. I think this one might actually be my favourite!  The base plaque is made of MDF that I painted using acrylic paint. I layered up patterned papers in brown and blue tones onto the base, ripping and inking the edges for a distressed look. I added a die cut border and doily, both cut from vellum and lightly inked with Distress Ink. Hessian, inked lace and a pearl swirl (done free-hand using Tonic Nuvo drops) were also added for some texture. For the focal point I used 2 ripped rectangles of card in blue and cream that were both inked and I offset the blue one on top of the cream one. I die cut the smallest label from Spellbinders decorative labels 8 from blue and added that atop the cream rectangle. I stamped my s
